Anima, animalis ambiental instalation held in Gallery Kazamat, is based on hundred selected dreams taken from the Dream Archive /http://arhivsnova.hr/. In those chosen dreams animals appear as the main ‘protagonists’ in the manifest content of the dream.
The exhibition setup in Gallery Kazamat essentially defined by space, round off the audio component of the work, a sound installation consisting of the voices / sounds of various animals, composed with clips of white noise- sounds. On an individual level the dreams in work function as psychograms, in wich the unconscious uses animal forms to connect the dreamer with the archetypes of animality. We can only assume that the unconscious thus processes incommunicable emotional experiences associated with various fears, traumas, important life milestones. Indirectly in the context of summarizing all these dreams with animals (many of which have arrived in the Archive in the last few years), the question arises – what does it mean to be human today compared to other species, in the time of cyborgization which rapidly changing the anthropological definition of man.
