From the Dream Archive for Empeduja Beach

installation / intervention
Empeduja Beach, Empeduja Art Camp, Rijeka
2018,

The work is an ambiental intervention based on two dreams (one in Italian and one in English) selected from the Dream Archive and applied to a beach towel and crumpled aluminum foil. The texts of both dreams are completely opposite to the usual experience of the sea on summer beaches – these are emotions that in a dream emerge from the sea of the unconscious, shaped into a nightmare.

And while in Chiaranina’s dream there is no awakening from the depressing ‘floating in the sea as black as kerosene’, Ram Ozeri in his dream, indifferently relives the scene of the bombing, a scene that often happened to him in reality.

Both interventions were set on the beach of Empeduja by the sea in Rijeka, fixed to the ground with pebbles.

The texts of the dreams:

Chiaranina,  November 22, 2013.

Sogno spesso di galleggiare in mezzo ad un mare nero come il petrolio.

Ram Ozeri , June 4, 2013.

I was with my wife in New York. A big explosion just happend. Everyone were very nervous. A man I do not know was crying in the corner. But I was relaxed – I am used to it.
